Why Are We Better?

Aquatic Alternatives has over
100 years of experience in fisheries and aquatic management. We have the background necessary to design and build superior trout streams and lakes. Our work spans two human generations of fisheries management paradigms. We have personal experience with what works and what doesn't. We are constantly testing new ways to improve aquatic environments at our research hatchery.

How We Design Projects

We design with your expectations in mind, as well as how it will interact with drainage-wide considerations. We consider the numbers and sizes of trout that you anticipate catching on a yearly basis and match this with available forage and other physical parameters that govern production. We address these factors up front so that the end results are those you expect.

Drainage wide fisheries are also enhanced by the project. We will help you understand what other considerations should be addressed. At the completion of a project we can supply trout for an initial stocking with fish of a specific genetic heritage - we utilize many sources throughout the Western United States all fish and are certified by the state.

Aquatic Alternatives utilizes passive energy sources as much as possible to minimize maintenance and increase the longevity of your project.
